I just wanted to share this great link with anyone that may be looking for a new pet as a family member - http://www.trianglepetrescue.com/arearescuesshelters.htm it lists many if not most of the rescue groups here in the triangle and other great information is there as well.

I am still having a blast pet sitting for the sweet cock-a-poo, he is great and is so glad to see me each visit, such a sweet and fun boy to take care of!!

This is one of my favorite quotes. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. Robert A. Heinlein

I had an interesting call yesterday morning from a new client, she was in tears and said she really hoped I could help her out. I asked what the problem was and she said her pet sitter had passed away suddenly and she was leaving town that afternoon and didn't want to board her dog, her vet referred her to me.

My first question is always where do you live? She lived just 2.5 miles from me so I told her I could come over in 30minutes and sent her to my website so she could get started printing the new client information forms. I have no problem doing last minute requests and being accommodating to people's needs.

When I get there she hugged me and was all red-eyed and I told her I was so sorry for her loss. She had called the lady to verify pet sitting just a while ago and her husband informed her of her passing, she was an elderly lady that had been caring for her dog since he was a puppy, she stayed at her house or took the dog home, so come to find out he had never been left alone at night, she was a little concerned about that. I told her one of my employees does offer live-in pet care or overnight stays but she said she rather have me just come do visits, I had already became his friend and was there, as she was leaving in just a couple of hours. She was worried about him being shy around a stranger but dogs recognize animal lovers and she was so glad to see he was giving me kisses and dropping his ball at my feet.

He is a very sweet cock-a-poo, I do have a soft spot for small dogs, they are my favorite - don't tell my large dog clients that though. I was playing and loving on him as she was showing me where everything was and telling me his routines for walking, showing me his favorite sleeping spots, where his toys were, etc......

We decided on me coming in 3 times a day starting that afternoon as smaller dogs do need to potty more often. I asked her if she did text message and she said YES and I told her I would give her an update after my afternoon visit.

He is a very sweet boy, he did great with walking, playing and enjoyed all the TLC I gave him, he was definitely fine with me coming in to cater to his every need. The client was very happy to hear all was well and he had accepted me as his new friend.

I saw him again at 9:30, again he was a happy boy, and all was well, I have him his evening dental chew and told him I would see him in the AM and to have a good night. This AM he greeted me at the door, tail wagging and loving life, as his new "fun sitter" was here. I let him out to potty, then he gobbled down his breakfast (owner was concerned he might get depressed and not eat). Then we went for a nice long walk and all is well in his world.

I see myself as the "fun person" in your pets life, we do the fun things, play, go for walks, receive lots of attention and love and a treat as I say "see you later, be good"! This little boy will be fine with pet sitting visits and he is very happy at home!
